How to play Rollgebra

Write equations to make tracks. Release a stream of 15 marbles and guide them into three golden gems. You can revise a curve and retry as often as you like.

  1. Pick a puzzle. Start with today's challenge, or use Practice without streak pressure.
  2. Enter an equation. For example, y=-0.5x+3 makes a sloping line.
  3. See the track. The turquoise line is both the visual graph and a physical surface.
  4. Launch marbles. Fifteen marbles release one after another over about two seconds; collect every gem in a single run.
  5. Experiment. Change slopes, add tracks or open Advanced settings for custom bounds and parameter sliders.

Which equations work?

The scored daily challenges use simpler line and parabola tracks. In the unscored Formula Lab, try more complex functions, implicit equations and polar curves. Advanced tracks, sliders and custom experiments do not contribute to the daily score.

Mobile and keyboard

Tap an equation field to edit it. Use the Maths keyboard button for fractions, roots and powers. Tap a track heading to fold it and make space for the graph. The editor also supports a physical keyboard.
